Hello everyone here, and of course you Garry, What a great site you have here,I have a TV business here in southwest England, My main hobby is metal detecting, i have 2 machines one of which is a whites single frequency, and the other a minelab multi frequency,I am very tempted to build one of your pulse detectors, Garry, with your pulse detector, is there ways to tell between the different metals, i only ask because far as i can tell the earlier pulse types didnt, and that was the drawback. Anyway so nice to let me join, and if theres anything in the uk, that you cant get where you live, just give me a call ok, my web page is avontvaerialsofbath.co.uk Kind regards All the best Dave Dave, Pi Detector Seldom Descriminate, and those that do, Only Descriminate between Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals. My Detector does NOT descriminate. And in many cases, Descrimination is not desireable. Example: Trying to find a Gold Ring and there is a piece of IRON Laying beside it. No Gold will be Detected.

Hi all!
I'm Tom, from Haliburton, Ontario, Canada. I've been poking around in electronics since I took apart my first radio. That was 50 tears ago and I'm still toying around.
I've worked assembling, testing, beta testing, repairing, installing and disassembling in the digital part of electronics but at no time have I had the benefit of any training. It hasn't slowed me down too much.
I've been retired for a while now and am slowly learning the linear side to electronics. I have befuddled myself many times over the time spent playing and now realize that I was handicapped by the early reading I was exposed to. Vacuum tube technology is quite different from transistors and chips.
I have spent a bit of time looking at your circuit designs and I thank you for publishing them. Some are just what I'm interested in and others will soon be.
I just thought I'd introduce myself to the group as it's difficult to know what to say when you have no idea what experience level we're all at.
If I can figure out this medium a bit better I may be asking a number of questions.
Take care,
Tom (Stomp)

Hi All I'm Jim, not the "other" one above a couple of pages back, I call myself electricme2, I enjoy doing the impossible when someone says to me "it cannot be done" and I live in Australia, so I guess I am upside down to most of you lot. I accidently fell into here looking via a search engine looking for a circuit, found a gold mine of them, thanks Gary for making the forum and I hope you keep it going. On the spelling, I have ADHD, and I'm 60, sooo if I forget my spelling, and grammar, (keyboard keys are to blame) youse all just have to gwin amd bear it toungue in cheek. JimEM

I just Printed out a List of all the members that have NEVER Posted.
Checking out the First 30 persons on this list, (Page 1 of 17 Pages) 19 of these haven't even entered this forum since 2009 or earlier.
These 19 are Now Deleted.
Its great to show a large Membership, But whats the point if they are NEVER HERE? I Will NOT Delete anyone that has been on this site in 2010 or 2011.

Hello all,
mark from the UK. Just joined. very new to electronics, so don't know alot. Only just found out what amps actually are (electrons flowing). Still trying to find out what volts are :-) Also looking forward to trying some of the simpler circuits on the web site.
