I guess I started something with my criticism of the language used in our posts. I don't expect us to become world class linguists. But if we are sure to include a verb with each sentence and think about our choice of verbs, adjectives, and the like, we will go a long way in communicating our thoughts. Electronics requires accurate thought in my opinion. rmeyn Richard

Hi All, I have joined today, although I've been to Gary's site many times, I'm impressed with the fence energizer design, been looking for something that can kick the hell out of criminals for a long time, in South Africa the crime is a nightmare. I'm in the gate motor business and also do designs for p.c.b's, recently started with PIC programming. My name is Llewellyn, Johannesburg, South Africa. All welcome to visit my web site also www.pruisgroup.co.za. Gary's site is my hobby playground for when I had enough of all my own greyhair designs, keep up the good work Gary, your designs is a breath of fresh air. Llewellyn

Hi Llewellyn, I was puzzled by what you meant by gate motors. Now I know. Always wondered who installed and serviced those powered gates. We have a few in our area. I am speaking for myself, not the forum. I always welcome those who are interested in design, as well as just building published circuits. Gary has many useful designs and I recommend them. But I would also recommend the following links, if you are looking for design ideas: www.uoguelph.ca/~antoon/www.electro-tech-online.com/www.electronicsinfoline.com/?gclid=CLPd363qx5cCFQIogwodVx_YSgAgain, I am speaking for myself. I would like to see this forum have a more broad based membership. You are most welcome. I look forward to any of your design ideas you wish to share with us. rmeyn

Hi Gary, and Richard, Thanks for the kind words, the reason for giving my web address, so people can understand what my line of business is, I do want to start a page next year whereas any one can post designs for hobby purposes and gadgets for building. As stated before, Gary's site is a breath of fresh air, for my designs for gate motor electronics is complicated due to all the different functions people want and not all areas in South Africa have constant AC current, some place are low, some are high others play around , and that can cause damage to any well designed p.c.board. Season greetings to all Llewellyn

Hey, whoa...I posted, it was just last week, no...um 2 mos back. I remember now it was 4 months ago. OK, OK, this is my 1st time using my new fingers on the keyboard writing words. I hate it when I'm new.
Good day, eh! You have a path to a nice clearing, laid out blankets and set out some chairs for any person stop by and enjoy. I guess the fortune cooky gods were in alignment when I Googled Stun Gun electronics?!?, or whatever. In any event I'm glad to have found your site. Thank you for taking your time and passing along your art and then all that it takes to make this information appear before us.
I have read your 'current' health bios and I would like to add my concern to your battle. Cancer seems to run in my family; it found its way to my grandmother and won, but that was way back in the early '50s. My dad and aunt also fought versions of your battle, throat and breast respectively, and with 21st century medicine they both were victorious as you shall be.
I already have projects in mind using a couple of your circuits to better my understanding of electronics, intrigue my six year old son and maybe add some utility to our home. I feel some consideration is necessary here, so, I promise to follow the warnings and advertisements you also example. Further, these caveats about common household voltages and its due respect I'll impart on those around me. additionally I promise to hold harmless and fully indemnify you against that may arise from my use of your designs.
Respectfully Keith H. (aka arcmastre)
