Hi Gary I am fabio, i wrote you some days ago about the m250 power amplifier. I asked you about the power supply toroidal and you answered me, but it's my first project and i want to be very sure of what i'm going to do. I found this toroidal, inspite of the one i posted you the previous time, and i found it better. It has three output (if i'm not wrong), primary 40V, secundary 12 v(i can use this maybe for the dc protection circuit) and the last one 18v for an all power of 800 VA. Neverthless i am not sure if it's the right solution, and i ask this to you to have confirmation. I post here the link: cgi.ebay.it/80V-40V-800VA-Toroid-Toroidal-Power-Transformer-HiFi_W0QQitemZ370122758640QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item370122758640&_trksid=p3286.m63.l1177Or maybe i can use this, also if there are no more pieces available at the moment. cgi.ebay.it/Trasformatore-Toroidale-500VA-230V-out-36-18-0-18-36_W0QQitemZ360115293412QQcmdZViewItemQQptZTrasformatori_e_Raddrizzatori?hash=item360115293412&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1385|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318#ebayphotohostingIn this link the language is the italian, but the features are clear. 500Va 36-18-0-18-36. Personally, I think the better is the first link. Thanks for your willingness, and so many good things. Excuse me for my ridiculous english in some phrases. Best wishes Fabio

Hi Gary, you're right I didn't pay attention at the description so...thanks a lot.
I have a question: can I use any other kind of connector instead of the rca for the signal input? Can i use jack connector without adding any resistance?
Thanks a lot. I want you to know that i am 20, and my passion for electronics started about 2 years ago. You gave me the hope to learn something more, and to build my first power amplificator, that was my great dream in the audio applications.
Thanks Gary.
Fabio

Not sure What you mean by "Jack Connectors".
But For Inputs, Any Connnector that allows for the use of a Shielded wire is OK.

Those are typically called 1/4" Phone Jacks and Phone Plugs, origionally famous for use in telephone switchboards. Yes you can use them, But Why? There just Big and mostly just used on Guitars and Guitar amps these days? Gary

Hi Gary
I want to use them because i take the input, probably, from a sound board of a computer, and also because i have to drive a mono way, and rca is less smart then the jack.
If i had to drive 2 ways, the rca will be the best choice, in my humble opinion.

Hi Gary how are you?
I'm soldering components, waiting for the diodes and the last transistors.
But i have a question: what voltage do we need for capacitors? I mean, the capacitor needed in the main pcb. It can works with 60-100 volt capacitors?
Best wishes
Fabio

Hi gary and thanks
Have you got some technical details about the amp? For example the thd, the range of bandpass, etc?
And how are you? have you got some news about your health status?

Fabio Sorry No Details on that Amp. I'm told it works good, But I Never built it. MANY MANY MOONS AGO, I built a slightly modified version of the "UNIVERSAL TIGER AMP", in "Popular Electronics Magazine" (1067?) and I am Extremely happy with it.
