Dear Gary, I think you are right to think so, because it must be very disappointing for you no new posts. Some time ago there were some interresting discussions and a lot of questions here, but it all came to a halt so to see. I think too many of the younger people lost their interrest in electronics and the making of electronic circuits, because on one hand you can buy almost anything for cheap nowadays and on the other hand people are too busy with gaming and social media and they just don't take the time to develop themselves. It is a pitty, but we can't change it. I only hope that your website with all your fantastic circuits will be available for the few who are still interrested. I enjoy it very much to regularly look through the articles and read all your comments of the electronic circuits part of the website. In this moment I am interrested in the -new- pinpointer-3 metal detector and looking for a simple but working bat detector for my grandson. I wish you lots of luck and a good health and much wishdom with your decision.
Take care -- Dante

I agree with Dante. I see no point of shutting down anything, at least because it requires no maintaining (free hosting) and works by itself. I'm thinking of driving some interesting projects, but not sure, if this is demanded outside of Russia. I don't know, what topics are popular among the hobbyists of western part of the world Here, the most interest now is in survival, post-apocalypse, etc. It's like epidemic, many sites and small forums has grown in large communities. I have many ideas related (but not dedicated) to that, for example, now working on 12v arc welder. And this one is also not forgotten. Also, in plans, other energy-harvesting and utilization projects, mostly related (but also not dedicated) to natural living. So i will definately post this as i progress. Curiously, what are you currently working on, Gary?

Lamazoid, Check out my "Latest Projects Update"chemelec.proboards.com/thread/347/project-updates-march-21-2014The Pin-Pointer Project appeared GREAT,Until I found it also Detects Tiny Amounts of Moisture. But it can still be Quite Useful. And Even though this is a Free Site, I am Responsible for its Content. Its a Pain in the A** to Check it most days, finding NOTHING is Even NEW.

Of course, i have seen these projects. but personally i have no need in metal detectors or something like. And i know what it means to maintain a site, which is not visited/posted for years. The same thing happened with SRC, and many other good sites. But despite no one posts, they still find useful information, very good articles and projects. Today there are too many morons, and only few % of people who still likes to THINK of something, or DOING something with their own hands. I keep my sites only for this kind of people. I believe, if even one man will find this information useful, its a reason to keep site running.

My love for electronics will never die. I just have so little time for projects that i tend to read about others projects using a little time rather than devoting alot of time to just one of my own projects. Still i find this site to be full of useful reading and would be happy to help someone out if they needed help.
I for one would hate to see this site dissappear.

Gary, I hope you never close the forum. Myself, I have been very busy and unable to work on any of my projects lately. In my spare time I wrote an article. I have it posted here: hackaday.io/project/760-Battery-Tutorial-for-SG-circuitIt's really just me ranting on about my experience with batteries..

It's not that the "youth" are no longer interested in electronics or making things in general... I think it's just that several websites have popped up lately that really target beginners. One such site would be the forums for the Arduino microcontroller boards (somewhere on arduino.cc). There are also forums for other similar boards (like the Teensy).
In addition to those microcontroller dev boards aimed at beginners to electronics, you have other websites dedicated to the "Maker" movement. The "hackaday.com" and "instructables.com" websites are popular places to find collections of projects that are documented for others to try out (though many of them aren't documented well enough to successfully duplicate the finished product).
That said, I just now found this site, and I would love to have the opportunity to dig through at least some of the projects here!

I also Support them with HELP when needed. But I Don't get into Microprocessors or Programming. My Site comes due for Renewal in October and I am considering Renewing it for One more Year.
