Nasty looking little critter Gary, we have many different types of tics in Australia as well, at one time I was bitten on the face while sleeping in bed, the swelling took some 2 weeks to go down, I also fixed that ones little red wagon. peter.

Nasty looking little critter Gary, we have many different types of tics in Australia as well, at one time I was bitten on the face while sleeping in bed, the swelling took some 2 weeks to go down, I also fixed that ones little red wagon. peter. These are common here in the Spring and Fall. They tend to crawl around you for a bit, than they inject an Anesthetic and than try to Burrow deep under the skin making it difficult to remove them in one piece. Once iunder the Skin, they can be difficult to find, especially on your back. Typically No swelling or pain. However here, they can give you "Lyme Desease", so its wise to get a Doctor to remove them and test for that problem.
