Hello, I am a member of BYOAC (Build Your Own Arcade Controls), and have built many cabinets. I am currently building a jukebox and I'm having an extremely hard time finding someone who is capable of building a color organ for it. Through google, I found this site, and I'm here to ask if anyone would be interested in being hired to make this for me. I have a link to a very similar item on ebay that started this quest, my jukebox thread at BYOAC, and my thread for my personal arcade machine that I built last year that has a four player setup and dual monitors. Thanks for your time and I appreciate any help. ebay linkThe jukebox projectMy arcade machine

I'm not interested in doing that. As to making this, Why not just Buy the Origional one? It appears to be Fairly reasonably Priced. Other than doing that, to design and build this, You would require: 1) Ten BP Filters. How Elaborate they are Depends on How good of Filtering you want. It could be one to four Op-amps for each one. Or a Digital Filter. 2) the Drivers for the LED's would be 2 each, LM3914's, 3915's or 3916's, or combinations their-of, for Each set of 20 LED's. LM3914's give a Linear display. LM3915's give a Log Display. Using A LM3915 and LM3916 could give a True "Vu" Display. 3) All the LED's 4) A Suitable Power Supply. Not Impossible, But with the Design Cost, plus PCB Cost, and Hastle to do it, Probably just a expensive as buying the Origional.

Thanks for the reply. The maker of that item did contact me today, as he said he was on vacation. That one is 10 channel by 20, I'm looking for a 20 channel by 10. He has made round 20 channel light organs before, so I think he could do it fairly easy. The problem I have is that I can solder, but I have no clue what I need and in this case, I would have to be baby stepped through the entire setup. Thanks again for your help.

For 20 Channels with 10 LED's on each, you would need Higher "Q" Bandpass Filters. (A Narrower Bandwidth for each filter)
I started to make one Once, But never finished it. (Half Finished) I still have that Half and I believe I also still have the PCB Design.
