Good morning, we built T/R locator - 2kHz Ver 1.0 M - as a project revised and modified by Gary Lecomte (Chemelec) radiostudentmd.ru/english/articles.php?id=161detector.borda.ru/?1-0-0-00000027-000-0-0we want to ask you if there is a procedure for its "alignment", voltage values or waveforms in the main points of the circuit that can indicate the correct calibration. we think your project is very interesting so we want to make it work correctly. thanks for your availability, Vittorio. (excuse me for my bad english)

A little searching and it looks like it is made to find cables, wires and valves in the ground.
TR = Terrasonic pipe and cable locator
He may have thought it not to be a good project for the average person.
Just a thought.

I don't know how to proceed anymore because I don't have the elements and experience to be able to do it, despite this I have found a lot of errors, inconsistencies and failures that I have solved but I can't understand a thing about the functioning of this thing. The principle of operation seems to be simple, i.e. there is a signal transmitted with a phase and a signal received with the same phase, when the transmitted signal hits a target the received signal is phase shifted and the phase shift which is proportional to the target. magnetic anomaly is detected and sent in low frequency amplification, then if it is ferrous it changes frequency, if it is non ferrous it falls silent or vice versa. what I do not understand are the construction data of the resonant coils, the transmission coil is powered from a square wave of 2048 Hz and its value 15mH with the capacitor of 0.2 uF about mi gives a resonance at 2905 Hz while the rx coil always with 15mH and with 0.4 uF about mi from 2054 Hz and this for it's okay because it is very close to the working frequency but the 2905 Hz of the transmission are not good for me also because the famous 120v at the ends of the transmission coil are NOT there with 2905 Hz but there are plenty of s and you make the coil resonate at a frequency close to 2048 Hz and I don't know if it is a conceptual error a transcription error or if this value is really wanted. Hence my belief that there are errors on this project that I cannot find despite having found them, for example VR2 which went from 470K instead of 470 (which was also written as a modification but not modified on the diagram) the SCHUNT instrument badly connected and out of order (now fixed), quartz not working now replaced, a broken track perhaps the result of countless manipulations in previous years and finally replaced batteries because by now they were no longer able to start the circuit. I have reached the point that I hear a hum of which I can adjust the volume, the intervention threshold but it is constant I do not hear variations due to changes in distance from metal objects or from a car and I do not understand if it is too sensitive and is influenced by anything you surround it or if both its correct functioning and you have to regulate it in a certain specific way that I do not know.

I got to say that I have no idea anything about this Terrasonic Metal Detector.
Looks like around $50 will buy one here in the USA. Old military surplus! I`m sure that I don't want one or want to build one!
Anyone who knows anything about this is welcome to post here and try to help out vittorio in his project!
