I got a free non working Vizio tv given to me. Had to remove about fifty screws just to get into the darn thing. Found one amc1117 adjustable surface mount regulator bad in it.
Now Who thought making components smaller was a good idea? I don't even have any surface mount regulators! I put fifty screws back in and set that project aside.
Seriously Have to think if I want to start stocking the little buggers.

That figures Gary,.. I have about every through hole regulator I could need.
Till now I just used through hole as a sub.
Data says lm317 pin for pin compatible But it shure don't look right to me.

After searching the internet, I now see how common 1117's are. Guess I haven't
worked on enough newer TV's yet.

Send it to me "chemelec@hotmail.com" I Assume your in the USA? Legally, Sending Anything Other than Paper to Countries outside of Canada Requires it be Sent as a Parcel. So than Even a Letter becomes a Parcel and sent to the USA would cost $8.00 or More. These Are Tiny, So I would Just send them, Folded into a Letter and Hope they get Through to you. I have never been keen on using surface mounts for anything except when I had to.
Surface mounts are the only reason I had to buy a solder rework station the first place. It does work great on heat shrink tubing!

Our Lives are Short and My Life has been GOOD, but it will Soon End. 74 and really Doubt I will make 75. (Have Pancreas Cancer.) Unfortunately all the parts I have will soon just go in the Garbage Can. |

I wish I lived closer to you, I would pick through your garbage can!.
I make it up to and around Canada all the time but that is a hell of a long way from
Searchmont, Ontario to you.
Hope you can live as long as you can without the pain that cancer can cause.
Seems to be more and more cancer these days. I have Lost to many friends to it.
