The Bell-jar Looks OK to vacuum in. What are the Spec's on those Arrestors? A pump from a refigerator may work. But I don't know how much of a vacuum they create.

Ivan Your arrester is BOURNS 2027-23-B with 230 V nominal. So it's not suitable for stun gun. Here is the datasheet page, maybe it will be useful, in case you can obtain other models of this manufacturer: www.bourns.com/components.aspx?cmsphid=76630350|1370763|9201190add: f**k, the forum makes link broken, just copy full text to browser

Ok, thank you very much for your response ;D I can supply this, or another Equivalant. ("MCR100-8" 0.8 amps at 800 Volts) $1.00, plus $1.00 shipping. (Sorry but this must be in USD, mailed to me) (And LEGALLY, it should be $3.00 shipping with a customs declairation sticker on it, but its so small I think I can get away with just sending it in a regular letter.)

Gary your vacuum pump is very powerful and is very well. I am drawing on EAGLE the PCB but I think it is better to use your PCBs.

I designed up a PCB for the Stungun-3 as shown on my site. Than I re-wound another T1 Transformer for it. (I no longer have my origional one.)
Although it works good, I am just not happy with the physical size of it. Its bigger than I would like it to be, especially in height.
So thinking I would re-design this project, I have some Smaller cores made by "Phillips" that I think would be better, but I only have 3 of them in my stock and not sure if they are still available.
** There is no point in doing a project if parts are not available.
Trying to phone I find my supplier is closed today because of the Holiday here in Canada and in the USA. But if its available I will order more of them or find another suitable core and bobbin. Not sure on the cost of these, but either way thay have a $50.00 Minimum order. Ahhhhh, its only Money.
Anyway, my plan now is to make a new project, "Stungun-4". With a PCB and most other parts available.

Here is a proto-type transformer for T1. Using that Philips pot core, I mentioned previously. Primary is 14-0-14 turns of 24 AWG enamel wire, "Bifilar wound" on two layers. Secondary is 1000 turns of 40 AWG, Double insulated Enamel wire. Input 9 Volts and current varies between 500 to 380 mA as capacitor charges. This cap here is Only rated at 450 Volts. OOOPS! Because the output measure about 580 volts with just the single diode and cap as shown.

Interesting, what's the point of your "stun gun 4" ? How much output power it will have (say on 1000 Ohm load)?
If i'm not mistaken, your photo shows 22mm pot core like one used in my design. In my tests it was capable to deliver 50 watt output @ 70 khz frequency. In your case it seems to have much less power. Why to use so big core in this case?

Hello LAMAZOID..!! In my last post I was going to ask the same thing what is the point of a STUN GUN 4? The point is small parts smallest stun gun. More or less power? I think we have to ask GARY. Greetings buddy!!

Just because this is Stungun-4 does not mean its higher power. I just Sequence my numbers according to when it was designed And just because a particular Stungun is higher power Does NOT make it any more of a Deturant. Hopefully it scares him away without actually shocking him. And I Never said I would post a really Deadly Stungun. Sorry for the delay in answering but I was away to Vancouver for part of the Holiday weekend. A somewhat Bad Trip as now I'm quite Sick. So I may not be posting here for a week or so till I get better. lamazoid, if you want the lilability of selling a DEADLY Device, with the parts and PCB, Go Ahead.

Selling?! what?! I'm always acting AGAINST selling or even using things like that! But "the information must be free" , so i think posting and discussing any circuits, plans, etc., let them be deadly even, is not bad. The MAN kills, not the GUN.

Well maybe I'm going to Scrap this project also.
Checking with my supplier, there Minimum order has definately gone up from the previous $50.00.
The Phillips one is out of this world.
I found a "Magnetics" core that is as good, But I would need to order 94 Sets of Cores and 58 sets of Bobbins. Total cost with shipping would be about $250.00.
Not sure I want to spend that much as I doubt I would ever recover that cost.
Anyway, I'm still quite sick, but I'll think it over.

I Agree with "It's Man that kills, Not guns. But discussing projects of any kind is sort of "One Sided" when others can't easly duplicate what you have done. I Don't Condone the use of ANY Weapon buy anyone, But Expermenting with circuits can be Fun and Educational. Even Household Current can be used to Kill, and everyone already has that. As to the parts I was considering selling, there is no real difference. I'm fortunate to have a huge supply of parts that allow me to make almost anything, either with origional parts or by using my ability to substitute parts with excellant results. Most hobbiests don't have this option, so I thought I might create a Kit. It would still be up to that person to Wind the transformers properly and actually build it according to the schematic.

GARY__un KIT? .. Good idea! I can not find some parts ... HEALTH FOR YOU
LAMAZOID__ Hello buddy! I have a few questions for you. How your circuit oscillates? It is self oscillating (AUTO-OSCILLANTING)? Which is the part that makes the circuit oscillate? The HV coil is an AUTO- TRANSFORMER?
Thank you buddy!!!
