I live in Pennsylvania and we have a huge problem with suicidal deers. Seems they like to jump into or in front of cars. This mostly happens where the woods are very close to the road. So I thought...hmmmm a problem here..maybe I can come up with a solution to help the deer (ha-ha) j/k, actually to help people avoid the deer. One solution is for people to slow down, but..well you know that ain't happening. So I thought, how about a sensor on the car to provide a visual and audible signal to alert driver. After some researching and thinking I thought a heat imaging camera (or device) (TIC) might be the answer.
I found out that the 2000 Coup de ville actually had a FLIR or thermal imaging device installed. Wish I could find one in a junk yard or someone selling a Coup de ville with one cuz I might buy it just for that purpose. Anyways, if I can't get a Coup de ville, maybe I can buy a TIC. They are kinda expensive though and I ain't that rich so how about making one.
I did some research and found that the heat sensing device inside is a bolometer or possibly some device like a bolometer. Anyways, I was wondering how feasible it would be to build one to where it would not too costly and available to people to make or purchase. I am still just researching information on this but maybe someone who more knowledge than me on this could tell me either "yep it can be done" or "yep it can be done but it will be very expensive and difficult to make".
Not that I would listen to the second answer cuz I am a bit stubborn.
Anyways, I throw it out to the forum and maybe something good can come from this idea.
