I am a newbie of electronics I am also trying to construct the booster by LT1372 but i haven't heard the "tantalum capacitor", how is it looks like and how to identify it? I have seen some orange "beam", "capsule" like components in the circuit board, what are they?
Moreover, i Have heard sth called "monoblock" or "mylar" capacitor, what are their difference and how to identify??
THANKS!!!

As I told you in the Email I sent you, Tantalum Caps can come in MANY Different Colors. The color has no meaning. Tantalums are best for SOME Applications, Because of there LOW "ESR". (Effective Series Resistance) There are Many other types of caps, All have different characteristics. A Search on Google will come up with Descriptions of all types of caps, there properties and there applications.
