I just recieved a shipment of 40 sets of these smaller pot cores with the PC Mount Bobbins today. I also got some more Ferrite rods and other parts I was wanting. I can supply them to anyone interested, at my landed cost, plus shipping charges. (Basically the 2 halves and bobbin is $2.50 USD.) I will be designing and winding a new T1 transformer on one of these as soon asI get some time. Also designing and making a circuit board for this and associated circuitry.

This is the result of my stun gun Thanks to Gary and Lamazoid. My circuit always works, just that the hHV coil was not well insulated, in the HV coil use paraffin.

The HV coil was wound in a ferrite rod 8 mm diameter of extremely low quality with 38 turns (wire diameter 0.50mm) in the primary and everything that could roll in the secondary bobin (wire diameter 0.14mm).

Good work! Seems to be classical circuit design? Did you test it on someone?

Thanks buddy! I want to upload the video of the stun gun running but my internet conection is failing (slow), and I will call the company to repair the problem. I will take a few screenshots.

Perhaps try with me, I don`like testing with animals (I love animals). I will keep trying with other coils because this is wrong constructed. The materials are bad and the insulation is not good (much internal arc)

Hi Ivan, Good Pictures.
What is your Arc Length?
Preventing Internal Arcing: As I said Previously, Most wax's have a High Moisture (Water) content. (Some as much as 10 to 15%) And that makes them Not very suitable for High Voltage. Epoxy is Much better, But Vacuum is also needed to help it Penitrate between the wires.
Also, If you cut the little slots that join between between the groves in different places, (Not in a Staight line as you have done), It will better help prevent internal arcing. Its more work, but sometimes I also do this.
Anyway, your work looks pretty good.
As to Testing it on Animals or even People, I am Against that. In my opinion, its lots of fun to play with, But I am Totally against it being used as a Weapon.
PLAY SAFE, Take care...Gary

The arc longer than was achieved 38mm (1 5/ 8 inch) approximately but with somes internal arcing. But the spark is poor and thin, I have internal arches. I prefer to try me (I love animals).

The multiplier is in the output of the HV coil

Links are working (for me at least) normally. Ivan, what's the purpose of your stun gun? It's just a toy or thing for deterrence or weapon or what ? In other words, how are you planning to use it?

Hello Lamazoid, the link works for you? You could load image for me? Please (I do not retain copies)

What is the purpose of my stun gun? Always feeling attractions for the high voltage and producing high voltage from a 9v battery is amazing to me. Years before I probe a stun gun at the store from a friend and from that moment I like. In Argentina are not popular, only to be found on sites like Ebay of my country. My wife is a nurse in a public hospital and work schedules are changing (day, evening and night). Time past when she finish work suffered the outburst of her bag, and thought to build a stun gun or an intense sound-alarm to persuade the attacker and is a toy perfect for me and it is a good thing to learn about high voltage, multipliers, step up transformers and circuits oscillators. The pepper spray are banned but the stun gun did not have laws that prohibit in Argentina. It is not my intention to hurt anybody, I do not want to try it whit an animal or a person It´s of persuacion. The terminals tests I want to make them in acute peaks to obtain intense sound.

I will email you pictures in one archive. What i can say about using a stun gun. I made many stun guns (over 30) and most of them i have tested on myself, my firends, even on real attackers in street fight, and i have an experience of testing commercial stun guns also. ANY commercial gun is not effective! Especially those with 9v batteries inside, because they can't give much POWER (in watts) to stop. In our country the output power for civilian stun guns is limited by law to 3 watts, but for law inforcement (police) it's 10 watts (feel the difference!). One of the most effective stun gun which i made was a copy of russian commercial product for law enforcement. It was capable to disorient, cause strong pain, even kick person off his feet. BUT it still was NOT ENOUGH effective to 100% stop. So the conclusion is (here i'm agree with Gary) - common stun gun is only a deterrant. Propably the best choice for self-defence is to make it in form of a baton, to have an ability of kicking attacker while preventing him to grab the baton. If you want to rely on a stun gun as an only weapon you should build my ciruit. It will DEFINATELY stop anyone, but there's always a chance of death or strong injury with it. The decision is yours. PS russian law enforcement stun gun inside: stungun.steelrats.net/Skorpion.html - i made one like that stungun.steelrats.net/ESHU200.html - another one, but working on EMD principle (low frequency, high pulse energy)
